Programs can’t run without people, space or flexible resources. That’s why we offer general operating support: to propel nonprofits’ work by providing funding where it is needed most.
General operating support makes organizations stronger. It gives nonprofits the resources to focus on quality. Urban Recipe, a 2016 general operating support grantee, is currently working to improve the nutritious quality of the food offered. These flexible grants also support innovation in programming and audience engagement. Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential (G-CAPP), another 2016 grantee, told us they have started experimenting with Facebook Live as a new channel for message delivery. Operating grants also allow for infrastructure investments that improve efficiency. Open Hand, another 2016 grantee, is currently implementing major technology improvements that will lead to long-term savings.
