The Community Foundation has strengthened employee engagement this year with activities that allow staff to interact and collaborate in fun and creative ways.

One of our biggest activities so far has been Share the Love, which took place on Fridays from February 2 to March 2. Each team was given an opportunity to do something special for the rest of the staff.

February 2: Senior Team

The senior team kicked things off on Groundhog Day with a spring theme. Staff enjoyed biscuits, coffee and cocoa in the morning and flower-shaped cookies in the afternoon.

February 9: Community

The following week, the community team took us to New Orleans with their Mardi Gras theme. The day started with beignets and in the afternoon, a second line parade led staff around the office to the break room, where everyone was treated to king cake.

February 16: Marketing and Communications

The marketing and communications team incorporated Valentine’s Day into their coffee shop theme. Staff members put in their coffee orders and spent time in the Cafe du Love. In addition to having their coffee orders filled, staff filled their bellies with biscuits for breakfast and heart-shaped cookies as a snack.

February 23: Philanthropy

Our philanthropy team made the office feel like home. Each staff member got their own succulent plant to brighten up their space. We were also treated to grits in the morning and cake in the afternoon.

March 2: Finance & Operations

Finance and operations closed out the month with an Oscar-themed affair. Each staff member got their own award, along with a chocolate Oscar statue to start the day. Later that afternoon, there was a popcorn social and Oscar ballot contest.

Activities like Share the Love boost morale and allow staff to bond with their colleagues. We look forward to participating in more activities over the year!
