The Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute (PALI) is now accepting applications for its ninth class for the 2018 – 2019 year. This program is a collaboration between the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and the United Way of Greater Atlanta. It provides financial, legal and accounting professionals with training designed to better educate them on incorporating charitable planning into their professional practice.

The purpose of PALI is to deepen participants’ understanding of how values motivate philanthropic clients, to hone existing estate and income tax planning skills as they relate to charitable planning and to forge strong and lasting professional ties between the various participants.

PALI is a highly regarded leadership development and networking program along the lines of Leadership Atlanta. Over one hundred and fifty professionals in the Atlanta region are alumni of PALI, who continue to learn about our nonprofit community together, discuss values based and charitable planning issues and network.

In 2018, PALI will welcome its ninth class of about twenty professionals from the fields of accounting, financial services, insurance, law and wealth management.  The program consists of five half-day programs designed to explore such topics as:

  • How professionals from different disciplines can work together collaboratively
  • What motivates philanthropists
  • How the values of a professional influences their client’s charitable giving
  • What are some of the philanthropic needs of the community

Sessions are held at nonprofits throughout Atlanta so participants can see, first-hand, the needs of the community and the beneficial impact these programs provide.

Applications for the program will be accepted until June 1, 2018. The program starts October 23, 2018 and ends May 15, 2019. A committee of PALI alumni along with representatives from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta will select the PALI class of 2018-19.  Notifications of acceptance will begin in late June.
