Spark Newton!—formerly the Newton Fund—was established in 2000 to bring together donors, nonprofits and community members to make philanthropy happen in Newton County. Spark Newton offers grantmaking, philanthropic learning opportunities and community awareness activities.

Impact


Since 2000, Spark Newton! has granted more than $286,000 to area nonprofits to respond to the changing needs of the community. Last year’s grantee was Main Street Porterdale.

 

Eligibility and Application Materials


In 2018, the Spark Newton! committee decided to focus on a specific community development issue in Newton county. Thus, the application process and grantmaking was held by invitation only.
