As Hurricane Florence bears down on the Carolina coast, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta hopes that all of our friends and neighbors in the path of the storm remain safe. High winds, rain and flooding from Florence will likely affect several states in the Southeast, even those inland. The exact path is unknown, but please take all steps to protect yourselves and your families.
Not sure how to prepare for the storm? The National Hurricane Center and Ready.gov have resources to help you.
At the Community Foundation, we are watching Florence carefully. Early next week we will publish information on how best to help those affected. If you would like to donate now to support anticipated needs, the Foundation for the Carolinas and North Carolina Community Foundation have created special funds to support nonprofits in the wake of Hurricane Florence once the full impact is realized.
