Neil Asks extends the legacy of L. Neil Williams, Jr., a civic-minded Atlanta-based leader who served as managing partner at Alston & Bird law firm.

A highly regarded and successful lawyer in Atlanta, Neil Williams was fully engaged in giving back to his community. He was an enthusiastic advocate for the arts and education, as well as a mentor for both young lawyers and older executives. He chaired Leadership Atlanta, the Woodruff Arts Center board, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra board and was national president of the League of American Orchestras. He also chaired the board of the Vasser Woolley Foundation, and served as a trustee of both the Halle Foundation and Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Neil’s life of service and leadership was motivated by enthusiasm and optimism for a better world. His sound judgment and commitment to excellence made a deep impact, both regionally and nationally.

Neil Williams passed away suddenly in 2012. This program, Neil Asks, honors his leadership legacy, promoting the importance of asking important questions, listening to differing views and inspiring others to ask the questions that would guide us toward greater hope, innovation, service and understanding.
