Many arts organizations are struggling due to the impacts of COVID-19 because of eliminated events, revenue losses, production cancellations and more. What began as a health crisis has become an economic crisis, especially in the arts sector. The Community Foundation strongly believes that the arts are always vital to our region’s culture and economy, as well as the fabric of our community.

That’s why we have pivoted two of our arts programs to help you NOW when you need it most:

  • Our 2020 Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund grants will provide general operating support grants with priority given to organizations that have been adversely impacted by COVID-19. The Community Foundation recognizes that arts organizations need flexible, nimble support during these urgent times so simpler applications will be accepted every two weeks with grants distributed on a rolling basis. Learn more here.
  • A Place to Perform funds will be made available to nonprofit performing arts organizations that have had to cancel or postpone performances or events due to the pandemic. Grant recipients will receive one-time general operating support grants of up to $5,000. Learn more here.

While it remains difficult to predict the long-term effects of the current public health situation on Atlanta’s arts ecosystem, the Foundation remains committed to supporting the organizations and artists that have made and will continue to make Atlanta a beautiful, creative and vibrant city.
