VOX ATL, also known as VOX Teen Communications, is Atlanta’s home for uncensored teen publishing and self-expression. Founded in 1993 by a group of 13 teenagers from all over the metro Atlanta area, VOX ATL gives teens a safe place to use their creative voices and learn leadership skills through journalism and self-expression.
One of those voices belongs to Malcolm “Mack” Walker, a recent graduate of North Atlanta High School, who has been involved with VOX since he was a freshman. Mack’s time not only gave him a chance to use his voice, it helped him grow as a person: “I felt like I had something to say, but because of my age, I did not have an ample platform to present myself on. VOX prepares students for the real world.” Now that Mack has graduated, he will be attending New York University in the fall to study film and television production. “The experience at VOX has meant everything to me. VOX became my home away from home,” he said.
“Never have I heard of teens having so much opportunity at this young of an age. That experience developed and turned me into the leader I am today.” – Malcolm Walker
