San Antonio Area Foundation and The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country open Uvalde Strong Fund

Violence is unacceptable. Gun violence is especially unacceptable because it is avoidable. Every child should be valued and safe, especially in a trusted place like school. On Tuesday, May 24, 21 lives were taken in a violent shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Nineteen of the victims were children, some as young as seven years old. Too many communities – including Atlanta – have seen violence like this. It’s time for it to stop. This is a stain on the soul of America.

Our peers at the San Antonio Area Foundation have partnered with The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to open a community response fund to support the families of the victims and the community of Uvalde. Every single contribution to the Uvalde Strong Survivors Fund will provide direct financial assistance to the victims and survivors of this atrocity.
