Keiser’s leadership of HouseATL’s 80 organization collaborative will bolster the Foundation’s focus on affordable housing in its TogetherATL programming

ATLANTA – July 5, 2022 – The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta welcomes key personnel in affordable housing, finance and philanthropy as it begins to operationalize its TogetherATL programs.

The HouseATL Board and the Foundation have named nonprofit veteran Natallie Keiser as HouseATL’s first executive director. The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta also serves as the fiscal sponsor for HouseATL in alignment with the Foundation’s quest to build or rehabilitate 5,000 affordable housing units by 2026. HouseATL, which formed in 2018, is comprised of leaders from more than 80 organizations committed to building the political and community will for a comprehensive and coordinated housing affordability action plan in the City of Atlanta.

“It is a well-documented fact that there is a lack of affordable housing in metro Atlanta,” says Frank Fernandez, president and CEO of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. “HouseATL takes a collaborative approach to addressing this issue, bringing together business and civic leaders to create a shared, comprehensive set of policies and adequate funding to address housing affordability our region. The executive director is key to realizing this vision, and Natallie, through her work at the Annie E. Casey Foundation and with her proven successes in economic development, community work and advocacy, is the right person at the right time to drive HouseATL forward.”

A dedicated nonprofit executive with more than 25 years of experience creating opportunities for families with low incomes, strengthening communities and working for a more just and equitable society, Keiser previously served as senior associate for community economic development and neighborhood transformation at the Annie E. Casey Foundation. In that role, Keiser spearheaded the organization’s community development strategy in Atlanta and applied a racial equity lens to issues like affordable housing and commercial development, most notably in the recently redeveloped Pittsburgh Yards® neighborhood in southeast Atlanta.

Prior to joining the Casey Foundation, Keiser operated a community development consulting practice specializing in strategic planning, project management, fundraising, interim leadership and board governance.

Before founding Keiser Consulting, Natallie served as chief of staff and interim CEO at Resources for Residents and Communities (RRC), a nonprofit community development corporation focused on housing development, property management, homebuyer and financial education, and community building. Previous roles have included supervising national microenterprise development projects for the Association for Enterprise Opportunity and guiding the United Way of Greater Atlanta’s strategy in microenterprise and workforce development.

Keiser holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and is a graduate of the Urban Land Institute’s Center for Leadership. Currently, she serves on the advisory boards of Enterprise Community Partners and Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership.

In addition to Keiser’s appointment, the Foundation also welcomes two new staff members:

Josh Dukelow joins the Foundation as gift planning officer, helping donors include philanthropy in their estate plans and educating trusted advisors on charitable planning tools. Previously, he worked for various nonprofits, including Lawrence University, where he served as a major and planned and giving officer, managing top donor portfolios and prospects. He also contributed to the success of the $160M “More Light” capital campaign, developing strategies to secure maximum gifts and engage local professional advisors.

Dukelow earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, and a Master’s of Public Affairs in Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Andrea Lawyer joins the Foundation as controller, overseeing and leading all finance and accounting operations, including maintaining the integrity of financial data and internal controls as well as leading a seasoned accounting team. Lawyer has more than 25 years of accounting experience in nonprofits, financial services and public accounting industries, as well as in management of accounting operations, budgeting, investment and financial reporting, audit, tax and internal controls. Prior to joining the Foundation, she served as the director of accounting at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) and treasurer of the Rockefeller Family Fund (RFF) in New York.

Lawyer holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and business administration from the University of Belize.
