Opportunity Alert! The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is seeking qualified, experienced contractors interested in participating in the PAACT Early Childhood Repair and Renovation Grant Program, a transformative initiative to enhance learning environments for Atlanta’s youngest children. Through this effort, which is funded through a donation from the City of Atlanta, approximately 50 early learning providers across the city will have the opportunity to conduct much needed renovations and repairs (up to $75,000) to enhance learning and playspace in their buildings. Providers will select the contractors or construction companies to work on their project from a pre-qualified pool. While selection into the pool does not guarantee that a contractor will be engaged for a project, it is a critical first step!
Are you (and your team) eligible?
– State of Georgia Residential-Light Commercial Contractor license or a General Contractor license
– General Liability insurance of not less than $500,000 and Workers´Compensation insurance as required by the State of Georgia
– Experience working with City of Atlanta funding or compliance (preferred)
– Interest in working on early learning centers or family child care homes
We expect that we will have a broad range of projects including: ADA compliance or other accessibility improvements, fire/life/safety and site security improvements, roofing, gutters, and downspouts, plumbing and HVAC improvements, kitchen improvements (including any fixed equipment), bathroom improvements, exterior improvements (e.g., exterior walls, roofing, gutters, doors, windows, gates, fencing, etc.), interior improvements (e.g., flooring, lighting, ceiling, walls, etc.), outdoor play spaces and improvements, including fixed play structures and equipment, built-in or fixed furnishings or equipment (e.g., cabinets, countertops, storage, sinks). You can demonstrate interest in all project categories or select those for which you are qualified.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until August 31 at 11:59 p.m. Applicants are encouraged to respond as soon as possible, To see the full Request for Qualifications, please click here. Responses to questions posed by June 6 can be found here.
