Tragedy in Aleppo

December 14, 2016
 /

Many of our donors have followed the news of the catastrophic state in Aleppo that has unfolded over the last several months. Aleppo is a once-flourishing city located in Syria. Thousands of people, including many children, are trapped in a sliver of Aleppo between soldiers of the Syrian regime and rebel fighters. A ceasefire put in place by The United Nations was violated today when bombing was renewed, which has stalled efforts to rescue civilians. The United Nations estimates that approximately 50,000 civilians remain holed-up in this tiny territory, many of whom are wounded and in need of medical attention.

What is happening is a tragedy, full of horror for those struggling now to escape. We’ve heard resoundingly that our donors want to help as they watch the news unfold and see photo after photo full of genocidal actions, but just do not know what to do. You can donate to the organizations below that are working to stop this atrocity or help those affected. These organizations are and have been embedded in the country and are best positioned to offer aid and assistance. We will continue to add to this list in the coming days.
