On March 3, a tornado struck our neighbors in south Georgia and Alabama. In Lee County, Alabama, it caused the deaths of 23 people, making it the deadliest tornado in recent years. The nonprofit organizations below are working to help the victims and reeling residents of these areas. - Community Foundation of East Alabama – opened the Lee County Tornado Relief Fund to support recovery efforts in Lee County.
- American Red Cross – serving hundreds of hot meals to residents and first responders in addition to providing temporary shelter and financial assistance to families.
- Salvation Army – providing meals to residents and first responders through its March tornado relief fund.
