ATLANTA – January 13, 2022 – Attainment of a college degree is a key to economic and social mobility. The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta provides hundreds of scholarships each year that help students to afford college and access new opportunities. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors and students enrolled in college or other post-secondary programs. Many scholarships are targeted to specific courses of study, geographic region or specific school and many are renewable as long as students maintain eligibility.

Applications for the scholarship programs listed below are open with a deadline of February 15 at 11:59 p.m.:

Students may apply for more than one scholarship if they meet eligibility criteria for multiple programs. This year, the Foundation is also utilizing a common application for five additional scholarship programs: Steve Dearduff Scholarship, James M. & Virginia M. Smyth Scholarship, George and Pearl Strickland Scholarship, Tech High School Alumni Assoc./W.O. Cheney Merit Scholarship and the Women’s Chamber Of Commerce Scholarship. Applicants will complete a single application to be considered for these opportunities. The deadline for these applications is also February 15. Applicants should pay close attention to the key dates for each scholarship, which can be found on the Foundation’s scholarship web page and in the application portal.

To be competitive for Community Foundation scholarships, students should carefully read the eligibility criteria for each scholarship to see which are the best fit and then begin an application in the Foundation’s Online Scholarship Portal. All scholarships require the completion and submission of a FAFSA Student Aid Report.

Students are encouraged to sign up for the Community Foundation’s scholarship email list to receive important updates and deadline reminders. Email scholarships@cfgreateratlanta.org to sign up. Questions about specific scholarships or the application process can also be directed to that address.
