Mental Health Awareness Month resources

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which focuses on raising awareness about mental health and reducing the stigma that many people experience.

We understand the importance of mental health for nonprofit leaders and their staff. Their care is critical to ensuring they are able to continue supporting communities. Below is a short list of mental health resources and blogs.

Mental Health America’s 2022 Mental Health Month toolkit provides free, practical resources to introduce
mental health topics like recognizing warning signs, knowing the factors that can lead to mental health
conditions, maintaining mental wellness and seeking help for mental health. Learn more and download the toolkit here.

National Alliance on Mental Illness amplifies the message of “Together for Mental Health” this month through blogs, digital toolkits, events, personal stories, social media and video. Learn more and view its resources here.

The Cobb Collaborative will host a Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® Lunch & Learn on Thursday, May 26 at noon. The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® trains community members to help themselves and help others within their wider social network. Learn more and register here.

Youth Mental Health First Aid, offered by Helping Empower Youth!, is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 6-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. Learn more about their courses here.
