The THRIVE Thomasville Fund at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta was created in 2019 to give members of the historic Thomasville community (Thomasville Heights, Norwood Manor, and Forest Cove) access to financial resources to address community concerns.
On July 19, the resident-led advisory council awarded $37,100 to eight community groups, nonprofit organizations and residents that are working in the areas of community engagement, health and wellness, nutrition, safety and youth development.
Organizations awarded in this cycle are:
- Bibleway Community Development Corporation, $5,000
- BK International Education Consultancy, $5,000
- First Mount Selah Missionary Baptist Church, $5,000
- Mimi’s Yoga Kids, $5,000
- National Office of Gamma Beta Chi, $5,000
- Pete Rorabaugh, $4,000
- Thomasville Heights Civic League, $3,100
- Tyme to Thrive Beyond Grief, $5,000
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has piloted and validated the community-led grantmaking model in historic Thomasville and will continue to shift traditional philanthropy to residents through our evolving place-based strategy.
