Black Philanthropy Month 2022

Black Philanthropy Month, founded by Dr. Jacqueline Bouvier Copeland in 2011, takes place every August and is a celebration of giving throughout the African diaspora. The theme for 2022 is the “Fierce Urgency of Now: From Dream to Action.”

  • ABFE‘s mission is to promote effective and responsive philanthropy in Black communities. Its website features information on its programs and an extensive knowledge center with fact sheets, webinars and more.
  • The Young, Black, & Giving Back Institute serves Black-led, Black-benefitting nonprofits and its leaders with a mission to provide capacity building, convenings, and funding that uniquely meets their social impact needs.

  • Meta has partnered with Young, Black, & Giving Back Institute and ABFE to create the Black Nonprofit Fundraising Guide, an educational guide that includes tactics and strategies for Black-led and Black-serving nonprofits to amplify their messaging.
