LEGACY GIVING

Giving that goes above and beyond.

Creating a legacy of good will through planned giving

A gift through your will or trust is the ultimate gift—a final expression to your loved ones of what you valued during your lifetime, and it provides much needed support to your cherished nonprofits. When you establish a planned gift at the Community Foundation, you automatically become part of our philanthropic family and are recognized in our Legacy Society.

With a permanent fund, your estate gift is expertly invested with the Foundation, growing over time to make an even greater difference. You can specify exactly how you would like your estate gift to be used and, with our commitment to donor intent, you can trust that your wishes will be carried out. Or you can leave your estate gift to our unrestricted grantmaking pool. Your gift can then be used to address changing needs and new opportunities under the careful stewardship of Community Foundation staff.

Creating Legacy

When you establish a planned gift, you automatically become part of our philanthropic family and are recognized in our Legacy Society. We had the opportunity to drop in on Virginia Hepner at the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola Stage, where she shared her thoughts about the importance and personal rewards of planned giving.

Impact

“Every act of giving is also an act of receiving meaning, connection, and quiet but powerful joy that comes from knowing that we are helping to create a brighter future for all beings with whom we share kinship."

Diane Martinez, Legacy Donor
