Junior League of Atlanta targets truancy through donor-advised fund gift

The Junior League of Atlanta (JLA) has a donor-advised fund with the Community Foundation and we work closely with JLA members to inform their annual grantmaking. We collaborate to identify nonprofits that enable the JLA to have a sustained impact within three priorities: improving early childhood education, reducing generational poverty and preventing commercial sexual exploitation of women and children.

One of their 2019 grant recipients is Truancy Intervention Project (TIP). Truancy is a known link to poor student performance and crime. Early intervention has proven to reduce absentee behavior later in life, significantly decreasing high school dropout rates. Learn more at truancyproject.org.
