How to register and apply

We have transitioned to a new grant management system, Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM), which is part of the Foundant suite of products. We are referring to this updated system as the Grants Portal. All applicants, new and returning, must register in the updated portal before submitting their first application in 2024. You can register now or wait until you are ready to start your first application. This will replace the profile you would have completed for the Nonprofit Online Portal in the past.

On each application you will be expected to provide:

Demographic information about the individuals in your organization and the population you serve.
Organization-level financial information/documents and potentially a project budget.
Specific information based on the unique grant criteria. Please refer to each grant opportunity for information required at the application stage.

You will receive emails from our Grants Portal throughout the registration and application process to provide you with guidance and next steps.

Metropolitan Atlanta Arts

The purpose and goal of the Foundation’s Metropolitan Atlanta Arts grant is to support and provide resources to strengthen independent arts organizations with annual operating budgets between $25,000 and $2 million. These creative enterprises promote public access and encourage the breadth of arts and cultural programming in our metro-Atlanta community. These general operating support grants are intended for programming and operations to allow organizations to increase public engagement as well as providing access to various forms of art across the region.

A Place to Perform

A Place to Perform provides grants to nonprofit literary and performing arts organizations in the 11-county Atlanta region to gain access to performance venues and facilities so they can, in turn, produce a performing art experience for the public. Requests for funding can be for a single direct rental. Eligible costs include the performance space rental, load-in costs, required equipment, or venue-related technician fees, including venue-specific box office or direct front-of-house fees.

A Place to Perform seeks to expand the options your entity has for choosing a venue, not to replace regular operating or production expenses. Requests may not include funds for artistic or general creation, staging, or production costs. This grant does not serve as commissioning support.

WORTH Grant Funding

Nonprofit housing developers and builders are invited to apply for grant funding through the Wealth Opportunities Realized Through Homeownership (WORTH) initiative from the Wells Fargo Foundation, which aims to create or preserve 6,000 homeowners of color. Eligible applicants can apply for grant funding to support predevelopment activities and "shovel-ready" housing developments in the five core counties: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett.

Grants vary by affordability level and are eligible for homes priced up to 150% of Area Median Income (AMI). Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

2026 Housing Stability Grant

For 2026, CFGA discretionary funding for housing will be focused on housing stability, as well as policy and advocacy efforts to advance affordable housing at the local and state level. Funding will prioritize support for the following areas:

Services for people experiencing or exiting homelessness (ex: short-term/emergency shelter, outreach and case management, rapid rehousing, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing)
Eviction prevention (ex: emergency rent/utility/mortgage assistance, legal defense for tenants facing eviction, stabilization services at residential complexes)
Policy & advocacy (ex: formalized policy advocacy with legislators, community and tenant organizing around housing issues, policy and advocacy training)

In recognition of the significant capacity required to go through a full application process, CFGA will not be requiring an application for 2026 for any organization that has either a) submitted an application to our housing portfolio in the last two calendar years (2024 and/or 2025); or b) received a strategic grant from our housing portfolio in the last three calendar years (2023-2025). Organizations who fall into one of those two categories do not need to submit an application for 2026 – they will automatically be considered for potential funding. Organizations that are new to CFGA’s housing portfolio may submit an application to be considered at this link. Staff will be reviewing applications and developing recommendations periodically throughout the year, so we recommend new applications be submitted by July 1st, 2026. However, we will continue to accept new applications until September 30th, 2026. For additional detail, please review the guidelines at this link.

Neighborhood Fund

The Neighborhood Fund is a participatory grantmaking program focused on supporting the Foundation’s three priority neighborhoods, College Park (S. Fulton, Clayton Counties), Fair Oaks (Cobb County), and Thomasville Heights (SE Atlanta). For more than 30 years, the Neighborhood Fund has historically provided neighborhoods of metro Atlanta with critical resources needed to accomplish community-based projects, build the leadership skills of residents and enhance the organizational capacity of community focused nonprofits. Residents have been awarded grants that support civic activism, generate cultural events, organize community members toward a common goal, create welcoming greenspaces, build opportunities for kids in the neighborhood, and improve community safety.

Nonprofit Sector Sustainability Fund

The Nonprofit Sector Sustainability Fund aims to help nonprofits strengthen financial sustainability, explore new operating models and build capacity through multi-year, general operating support grants and targeted technical assistance based on the needs of nonprofits in this moment. By combining financial and non-financial resources, the fund aims to support a resilient nonprofit sector both now and in the long term. Please see below for timeline and application details:

Vote Your Voice - Field Strengthening Grants

In 2020, the Southern Poverty Law Center, in partnership with the Community Foundation, launched the Vote Your Voice initiative with the goal of ensuring full voter participation and fair representation for communities of color in the Deep South.

This year, Field Strengthening Grants are offered to fund organizations that effectively engage communities of color year-round to encourage their participation in voting and other civic actions.
